Shanxi Lantian International Kindergarten is located in Datong's Pingcheng District, comprising 4 storeys (3 above-ground, 1 basement) with approx. 2,000㎡ per floor and a total of 8,000㎡. As an international early-education space, the design centers on "closeness to nature and gentle growth," integrating natural materials with child-scale architecture to create a safe, warm and exploratory environment.
The reading zone uses open bookshelves, curved floor guidance and wood-clad ceiling forms to draw children into a quiet, immersive reading atmosphere. Activity and circulation zones are linked by a continuous woodwork system of wall skirting, cabinetry, sculptural forms, door sets and openings. The piano room adopts Pure White D4120 in a minimalist finish, providing a clean, focused visual backdrop for music education. The remaining areas extensively apply Beensde Oak M1066-2 in creamy yellow natural wood grain across skirting, cabinetry, sculptural forms, doors and openings—a unified same-finish woodwork system that connects reading, activity and transition spaces, fostering a natural, gentle and secure atmosphere for childhood development.
Substrates are matched to function: 12mm carbon fiber panel with D4120 for piano room walls ensures flatness and color stability; 8mm carbon fiber + 18mm particle board with M1066-2 for skirting and cabinetry balances surface precision with structural volume; 18mm multilayer solid wood with the same finish for sculptural forms, doors and openings meets shaping strength and opening-cycle durability. Carbon fiber, particle and multilayer boards are precisely allocated by zone, fully meeting the high-frequency use, daily cleaning and safety demands of an educational space.
The specification centers on Pure White D4120 and Beensde Oak M1066-2 (surface: GM106 wood-thorn zero-degree texture) across Carbon Fiber Panel, Particle Board and Multilayer Solid Wood Board substrates, deployed to piano rooms, wall skirting, cabinetry, sculptural forms, door sets and openings.
Pure White D4120 presents a minimalist pure-white tone for piano room walls. 12mm carbon fiber substrate ensures large-surface flatness and pure, non-deviating color, providing a focused, bright backdrop for music teaching and children's performance, aligned with minimalist spatial expression.
Beensde Oak M1066-2 offers a creamy yellow tone with GM106 natural wood-grain texture—fine, warm to the touch—applied expansively to skirting, cabinetry, sculptural forms, doors and openings. The unified same-finish woodwork system connects all reading, activity and circulation zones. Its creamy natural hue reduces visual stimulation, creating a gentle, secure psychological impression for children, highly consistent with the kindergarten's "close to nature" educational philosophy.
Substrates are precisely matched by location: 12mm carbon fiber for piano rooms (flatness); 8mm carbon fiber (surface) + 18mm particle board (structure) for skirting and cabinetry (precision + load stability); 18mm multilayer solid wood for sculptural forms, doors and openings (shaping strength + cycle durability). The three substrates work in concert to ensure stable color and continuous grain across all interfaces, adapting to high-frequency use, daily cleaning and child-safe anti-collision requirements, supporting the kindergarten's complete expression of a natural, safe, quality educational environment.
Note: Colors may vary under different ambient lighting; please refer to physical samples for final effect.
