In the visual narrative of CHAGEE’s Kunming store, LANSEN’s "Straight-Grain Oak" panels serve as the core spatial language. Extending seamlessly from the walls to the ceiling, the warm wood grain unfolds in a rhythmic cadence that feels almost like breathing.
The natural growth rings and warm undertones translate a millennium of tea history into a tactile spatial warmth. The linear aesthetics of the straight-grain oak soften the clinical coldness of commercial environments, ensuring that the wait for every cup of tea is immersed in natural textures.
Using "Straight-Grain Oak" as a medium, the design creates multi-layered contrasts in the space: between wood and metal, texture and light, and functionality and narrative. This creates a harmonious blend of Eastern tea tradition and modern minimalism.
The fine, uniform longitudinal grain of the oak stretches out like harp strings, radiating a warm vitality under the play of light and shadow. The "breathability" of raw oak is precisely replicated on the surface; when touched, the subtle undulations of the wood grain convey the primal temperature of the earth.
LANSEN’s integrated aesthetics eliminate spatial fragmentation, allowing the "Straight-Grain Oak" to "grow" freely across walls, ceilings, and cabinets. Eschewing elaborate ornamentation, the straight-grain aesthetic awakens the soul of the space through a sense of minimalist order.
The crisp metal backpanels contrast sharply with the gentle wood finishes. This interplay of strength and softness serves as a metaphor for the profound heritage of traditional tea culture merging with the precision of modern craftsmanship.
The brand heritage wall uses expansive wood panels as a steady foundation to support a gilded timeline. The vitality of the timber resonates with the brand’s evolution, elevating functional display into an emotional brand narrative.
From the commemorative wall of the first store to the heritage timeline, the inherent inclusivity of wood ensures the brand story is always imbued with humanistic warmth. The space itself becomes a "breathing" micro-museum of tea culture.
LANSEN has penned a multi-dimensional love letter to Eastern tea culture, inscribed in the textures of Straight-Grain Oak. This is more than a teahouse; it is an immersive cultural sanctuary crafted through material aesthetics—a place where a millennium of tea history engages in a silent yet profound dialogue with modern commerce.
