Project Overview

Lin Li · Minnan Cuisine is a themed dining space rooted in Southern Fujian culture and the warmth of everyday life. The design translates the memory of aged timber in old ancestral homes and the settled tone of weathered Minnan city walls into a contemporary restaurant setting—modern in structure yet wrapped in deep brown, warm grey, and amber light—offering diners a place where regional nostalgia and emotional calm coexist.

The material strategy centers on "deep wood structure + micro-cement textured walls." LANSEN COLOR "Oran Oak," with its dark brown wood grain, extends across wainscoting, custom partitions, and cabinetry, its grain subtly varied to suggest naturally aged timber. "Liviya Micro-cement," in a warm brown-grey with fine granular texture, covers large wall surfaces—evoking the patina of timeworn earth and old rammed-earth walls. It is unassertive but grounding, providing a stable, story-rich backdrop for all subsequent decor and experience.

LANSEN COLOR finishes are applied to wall wainscoting and custom millwork throughout the venue. Oran Oak flows from wall cladding into bespoke partitions and cabinets, replicating the tactile warmth of solid wood to soften the formality of a commercial interior. Liviya Micro-cement delivers a continuous, lightly textured surface that sets off the refinement and order of the woodwork. The two—one organic and warm, one calm and monolithic—dialogue as soft vs. rigid, light vs. heavy, constructing a hospitality interior that is both locally resonant and modern in spatial order.

Material Application

This project uses the LANSEN COLOR decorative surfacing system in two patterns: "Oran Oak" and "Liviya Micro-cement." Oran Oak, with deep brown wood grain, is applied to wainscoting, custom partitions, and cabinetry, faithfully reproducing the visual depth and warm tactility of aged timber. Liviya Micro-cement, in warm brown-grey with a fine granular texture, is installed across wall planes as an inclusive, serene background. The wood's organic warmth tempers the micro-cement's restraint, while the micro-cement's monolithic calm elevates the wood's craft and order—together realizing a material scenography that embodies Minnan warmth and contemporary poetic calm in a commercial dining environment.
