The project is a Jiaodong-style restaurant in Beijing totaling approximately 320 sqm. Under the design motif of "Nature Intervenes," natural material warmth is interwoven with the rationality of modern function, serving diners seeking a relaxed yet quality-oriented atmosphere.
Spatial emotion is reconstructed through material originality, functional transparency and dramatic light. Rugged rammed-earth columns collide with sleek modern stone; timber grain dialogues with metal frames—together composing a "simple but not empty, warm but not noisy" character. The natural wood tone extends from behind the bar into the flowing wood shadows on glass partitions and onward to outdoor tables, blurring spatial boundaries and forming a visual breathing band.
M1048-1 Natural Oak serves as the primary wall finish. Its light-brown base and clear straight grain retain the free growth lines of the tree, translating through precise wall layout into a modern spatial grammar that balances wildness and restraint. The wood tone tempers the austerity of industrial elements and softens the rawness of stone and concrete; localized red glass appliqués layered over the timber base create visual accent points, giving the space both professionalism and approachability—a quiet spatial healing ritual in the most primal material vocabulary.
The specification centers on M1048-1 Natural Oak finish on the ML Series (ML1) substrate, deployed across the wall system.
The finish presents a light-brown tone with clear straight grain, retaining natural wood characteristics such as irregular color variation and subtle vessel gaps—meeting the dual demands of cleanliness and naturalness in dining environments. It is gentler than raw wood, more grounded than cream white. Through precise wall arrangement, the natural grain is domesticated into modern spatial syntax, striking a balance between wildness and restraint.
The panel substrate offers dimensional stability and stain resistance, well suited to the high-frequency use and daily wiping routines of restaurant operations. The natural wood tone runs continuously from interior to exterior, allowing timber grain to flow from the bar backdrop through partitions to outdoor walls as a unified visual breathing band. Together with rammed earth, marble and metal, the wood grain forms a material genealogy that supports the "Nature Intervenes" design theme and the brand's dual expression of quality and warmth.
