Pu Jing Hotel is a boutique hotel whose spatial philosophy—"stillness as refuge, containing all"—rejects decorative symbolism in favor of highly condensed design language. A restrained color system progresses from grounded earth tones to soft gradients of grey, composing a layered emotional map so that the space itself becomes a coherent, calming field of experience for the traveler.
The material narrative is built on three finishes: a honey-warm wood grain that suggests settled, inclusive warmth; a low-value dark timber recalling deep sea at night or twilight mountain silhouettes, used to anchor sightlines and define intimate zones; and a translucent mist grey with ultra-fine texture that gently lifts brightness and prevents visual heaviness. Together, warm wood and cooling grey—one soft, one firm—weave a rich yet harmonious sensory experience within minimalist volumes.
LANSEN COLOR decorative panels clad guestroom walls, door casings, and built-in wardrobes throughout the hotel. The honey wood grain flows continuously from wainscot to concealed doors and cabinetry, ensuring uninterrupted surface rhythm. Dark timber accents mark visual focal points and subtly zone private corners. Mist grey balances the tonal composition. Color, grain, and texture are systemically coordinated to achieve invisible programmatic transitions and furniture-environment integration—materializing a hotel interior where stillness has weight and gentleness has support.
This project uses the LANSEN COLOR decorative surfacing system in three coordinated patterns: Honey Wood Grain, Low-value Dark Timber Grain, and Translucent Mist Grey micro-texture. The Honey Wood Grain—in even, deep warm brown—is extensively applied to guestroom walls, door casings, and built-in casework, imparting a dependable, naturally warm foundation. Low-value Dark Timber provides visual anchoring and subtle spatial division. Translucent Mist Grey, with its finely diffused light-reflecting surface, lifts the overall brightness and tempers the darker tones. The trio forms a LANSEN COLOR systematic material solution, ensuring harmony of hue, texture, and function—a signature material-scenography application for boutique hospitality interiors.
